This course is designed to examine the use of information systems to support the management and business activities of an organization. Information systems not only perform routine functions in organizations, but increasingly often they are critical to the organization's achievement of its strategic long-term goals. It is therefore essential that managers, professionals, and those serving in many other capacities be fluent in the language of information systems and understand the role that information systems play in organizations. In order to be most effective managers and professionals, you must also understand how information systems are designed, constructed, implemented, and managed.
