The course, The Teacher and the Community, School Culture and Organizational Leadership, focuses on society as a context upon which the schools have been established. Educational philosophies that are related to the society as a foundation of schools and schooling shall be emphasized. The intent of this course is to help student teachers understand the relationship between the school and the communities in which they belong, analyze how school culture is formed and examine the important role of organizational leadership in the 

effective implementation of the Basic Education policies and programs of the Department of Education. It further equips the Teacher Education students with avenues for introspection of their faculties, and attributes necessary in becoming a competent and effective 21st Century Teacher.

 Further, principles and theories on school culture, social, and organizational leadership shall be included to prepare prospective teachers to become school leaders and managers.
